BS in Economics

Program Overview

The new Bachelor of Science in Economics (BSE) program (120 credits, 4 years) will leverage and build upon the existing expertise in the Manoogian Simone College of Business and Economics at the American University of Armenia (AUA). The faculty at AUA includes a significant number of Armenian resident economists, all of whom hold Ph.D.s in Economics from reputable universities in the United States and Europe.

The program aims to equip students with a solid foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and critical thinking. By fostering analytical skills and an understanding of economic principles, it will prepare graduates to contribute meaningfully to Armenia’s economic development. The main career paths for students and graduates of the program include a wide range of in-demand jobs in both the private and public sectors, focusing on analytical and social-science-oriented positions that go beyond the scope of standard business programs.

Mission Statement

The mission of the BSE program is to prepare professionals capable of  addressing the economic development challenges of Armenia and beyond through evidence-based decision-making, quality research, and excellence in the field. By fostering  values of diversity and inclusion, the program prepares professionals to take leading positions as well as equips them for further graduate study both in Armenia and internationally.
